It’s no secret that I really liked Floetry and was so disappointed when they broke up. Marsha Ambrosius has been quietly pushing her solo career for a few years and while I’ve always liked her work, I wasn’t initially sold on her album.
Until I listened to it….really listened to it…(sigh). I will admit that her voice is an acquired taste. I love it, but that’s just me. What really gets me though is the writing.
I can appreciate any artist willing to talk about getting it wrong, in the hopes of getting it right.

Well, well, well...look who is finally understanding why I had a tearful testimony at my desk. I'm in LOVE with this album, definitely a debut worth waiting for.
Ok so just as a sidebar, Marsha didn't write "Lose Myself." Lauryn Hill is actually the original writer and artist. Either way, it's on repeat in Tink
Touche and I sit corrected...I listened to Lauryn's version and I think it's going to take a second to grow on me. Thanks for the update.
Yeah, I didn't like Lauryn's version either...too kitschy, I think.
